As the fire destroys their complex, Levallois werewolf pack leader Remy Caufield grabs valuable documents from a safe. Before he can leave their raging pet vampire Domingos LaRoque tells him he will return to kill every member of the Levallois pack for torturing and forcing him to fight in the ring over his months of captivity; or die trying. Remy knows they will meet again as he rues the error of having Domingos fight and drain the blood of the powerful phoenix vampire who years ago survived a witch’s attack.

One month after the blaze destroyed their compound, Remy contacts The Order of the Stake for help as eight of twenty-four clan members have been murdered by the insane suicidal Domingos. The Order of the Stake sends it solo female knight Lisa “Lark” Cooper to take care of their lethal problem. Lark lives for revenge as her goal is to kill 366 vampires to match everyday her late husband Todd was held in captivity and tortured by these evil beasts before they converted him; she killed her mate. The anguished vampire and the avenging knight meet when four werewolves assault her and he intervenes; her goal stalls at 72 and his at 8.

Beautiful Danger is a terrific romantic urban fantasy due to the believable Hauf world and the tortured lead souls suffering from a deep need to revenge what happened to them. She distrusts vampires and he distrusts werewolves and knights who protect these cretins. The romance heats up late, but that distracts from a strong dysfunctional relationship drama of Beloved Enemies.
